West Auckland Historical Society help

W.A.H.S. includes history on all the area west of the Whau River up to Riverhead and Muriwai. Display rooms at Mill Cottage are located beside Henderson's Mill Bridge and the Opanuku stream where a Memorial Waterwheel complements the historical sawmill site. The Cottage includes a scale model of the site 1848-1868, showcasing the founding of the Henderson district and timber-milling in the Waitakere Ranges. W.A.H.S. also have a family history group and monthly meetings open to the public.
