Alice Bahra was born in Landsberg (then East) Germany, in 1945, and she completed her studies in ceramics in 1976. In 1992, she took a “student trip” to Philadelphia and New York, a trip which overlaps with the occurrence of the Contemporary East European Ceramics exhibition at The Clay Studio. Bahra’s work is unique (not only for Eastern Europe) rich in its implications, and sophisticated.
