Royal Historical Society of Victoria (RHSV) help

The Royal Historical Society of Victoria (RHSV) was formed in 1909 and is a community organisation committed to collecting, researching and sharing an understanding of the history of Victoria.

With the support of a large number of volunteers, the RHSV provides a full program of activities such as lectures, seminars, excursions, tours and exhibitions for the benefit of members, affiliated historical societies, and the general public.

The RHSV has a variety of established programs that support our mission of promoting Victorian history including History Week, the Victorian Community History Awards and the continued work of the History Victoria Support Group.

The Royal Historical Society of Victoria is managed by the Council that operates under the Society’s Constitution.

Office: Monday – Thursday 9.00am - 5.00 pm Friday 9.00am – 3.00 pm / Library: Monday – Thursday 10.00 am - 4.00pm Friday 10.00am – 3.00pm

Admission is free. Research is free for members. Research fee (non-members) $16.50 per day.
