Nok Terracota, African Sculpture dated between 6th Century BC to 6th Century CE

Natives of Nok Culture originated in Northern Nigeria

It is thought to have been the product of an ancestral nation that branched to create the Hausa, Gwari, Birom, Kanuri, Nupe and Jukun peoples. The Kwatarkwashi Culture or Sokoto Culture located to the North west of Nok is thought to be the same as or an earlier ancestor of the Nok.
