Purchased from a trader in bofa, The trader said they had been uncovered in diamond digging in about january 1964 from letter dated 2.3.1965, After buying them we saw about ten more of different shapes and size, all made from soapstone, and thought for a longtime that someone must be producing them locally. I took them to various people in BO who where said to be experts and most of them thought they were genuine. Mr Handscomb agreed to loan them with the hope that the museum will return them should they acquire similar ones or should they decide they are not genuine,curator's note If these are genuine, they are the style that is being copied by those who are presently manufacturing them.
