This truck was supplied new by NZ Express Company to Tom J. Finnie, carrier of Mosgiel. Sinclair Jones drove it, and when he returned from WWII, he bought the truck to start the Mosgiel carrying business with Ray Kingan, called Jones and Kingan (this business continued until the 1960s). In 1949 it was sold to J. Fowler of Castle Rock who knew the truck from when he lived in Mosgiel. Bert Kempton bought it at Fowler’s clearing sale to make it into a hay trailer but he changed his mind. Bill Richardson bought it from Bert’s son Maurice in November 1987.
