Bug's Citrus

About this object

The Big's Citrus carton is one of the most recognisable and popular cartons in the Cartonography collection. The characters are derived from the nickname of the family behind the carton, the Bugnos (pronounced Boonyo). When we visited Dimbulah to collect fruit cartons we were definitely keen to meet with the people behind the Bugs carton, and Ginina Bugno was kind enough to meet us and tell us about the farm and some of the various aspects of the citrus industry. Unbeknownst to us they also produce a JDL carton, which is the initials of the family's three children. We took a ride down into the orchard to see the lime trees first hand and pick some of the fruit. It was a memorable experience.
