Photograph, "At the Sultan's Funeral Procession"

About this object

A photograph of the crowd observing the procession at the funeral of Hussein Kemal, first Sultan of Egypt, in Cairo, 10 October 1917. British soldiers lining the route as an honour guard.
Fred Hutchings has written on the back of the photograph "At the Sultan's Funeral Procession". Fred was a patient in 14 A Gen. Hospital at Abbassia at the time and it is highly likely that he was on leave in Cairo on the day of the funeral.
