Mary Gulliford b. approx. 1796 in Somerset, England. Mary married Luke Cooper in 1818.
The portrait is light brown frame measuring 40cm (h) x 33cm (w)
Mary Cooper was the ‘matriarch’ of a number of Moruya’s early well-known families.
Mary’s daughter Angelina married John Bartlett in Somerset, England. John and Angelina Bartlett settled in Kiora in 1859. They had 11 children. One of their daughters, Mary Jane (Minnie), married Hedley Luck of ‘The Pines’, Yarragee in 1896.
Mary Jane and Hedley Luck’s only child Leila married Frank Campbell
in 1926.
Mary Cooper’s descendants can be found in the Heffernan, Pollock, Eddy, Wilson Phillips and Trethan families.
