About this object

Portrait of Mrs Alice Simpson. Alice, daughter of Abraham & Elizabeth Emmott, married William H. Simpson. He became the first mayor of the Eurobodalla Shire Council and was a member of the council for 15 years.

The portrait hung in the sitting room of the Emmott senior house in Campbell St., then in Page St., where the Simpsons built a double gable house, 3 blocks from the corner of Campbell St., (still standing 2012 under heritage order).

The portrait is in a home made plywood frame, decorated with sprays of glued on plywood flowers. Frame 33cm x 18cm.
