About this object

The Helipad was opened on 11 March 1997 by the Premier, Mr J Olsen, the Minister of health and MIka Hakkinen. Mika was a Formula 1 driver who crashed in the Adelaide 1995 Grand Prix and whose life was saved by the highly specialised care he received from RAH doctors both trackside and in the hospital. The facility allows for quick access to Royal Adelaide Hosptial.
