MarykeVan Deth graduated in 1966.
A gold medal was presented to a graduating nurse who had achieved the highest scores of the graduating group, with a Pass with Credit in all three subjects of the Nurses Board final examinations.

Medals in this era were yellow 9ct gold, matt and polished effect in the shape of the Maltese cross, with the Royal Adelaide Hospital initials raised in the centre of the cross. The medal is attached to a bar brooch engraved 'Royal Adelaide Hospital'. ‘Ophthalmological’, ‘Medical’, ‘Surgical’, ‘Gynaecological’ is engraved on each section of the cross. The recipient’s name is engraved onto the back of the cross.
On the back is also the hallmark stamp ‘9ct’
