About this object

Austin K2 Auxiliary Towing Vehicle used to carry crew and equipment and tow a trailer pump (also in the collection) for the Auxiliary Fire Service in WW2. There is documentary evidence to show that this vehicle operated from Acle Fire Station for a time and is believed to have also served in Norwich and King's Lynn. After front-line duties this vehicle became a 'Mechanics van' and was used in the maintenance of other fire appliances around Norfolk.
