"The large gastropod genus Alcithoe. There are several species of these alive when the Hatumu limestone was laid down, so it can only be known as Alcithoe sp.The limestone at the quarry is called - Te Onepu Limestone and is 2.3-2.5 myo." said Dr.Joseph McKee.
Found by Mary O'Neill, identified by Dr.Joseph McKee at a field trip in 2012. Remains of marine life in Hawke's Bay. 16 cm long fossil.
