About this object

Portable anaesthetists kit consisting of bag and contents from the Joseph, Musgrave and Ferrier practice in Maroubra, NSW. Most of the anaesthetic agents within the case were not stocked by hospitals until the mid 1980s.

Also contained within is a letter from the Commonwealth Gases Group (CIG) dated 1977 introducing the new 'C' size gas cylinder.

The canvas syringe wrap belonged to Dr A. Pfeiffer whose wife sewed it for him at the beginning of his career.
