About this object

Imitation ivory brisé fan, the sticks and guards topped with grouse feathers, which, in turn, are mounted onto dyed goose feathers. It is clear that the synthetic 'base' has been added by another manufacturer, working with feathers. The loop is made from cellulose nitrate.
Dyed orange goose feathers, this fan has a stamped out pattern in the imitation ivory.
