About this object

Monture: Wood, painted white.
Mount: Double paper leaf printed both sides.
Obverse: Satirical print featuring a buxom female in elaborate Edwardian costume. In her left hand she holds a jester’s sceptre. Five smaller puppet figures inhabit the left side of the leaf, connected by thin cords to the sceptre. One of the figures (shown offering a sack of money) resembles the incumbent prime minister and Liberal party leader, Henry Campbell-Bannerman. Signed and dated ROBERT ’06.
Reverse: Musical instruments, sprigs of olive branches and ribbons.
