About this object

Album; an ornate velvet-covered photographic album which was donated to us by Mrs Margaret Richardson who lived in Mataura with her husband Fred from 1950 to 2006. Mrs Richardson inherited the album from her maternal Aunt, Alice French of Christchurch who died in 1972 aged 94. The album originally belonged to Mrs French's husband Ray who grew up in Launceston in Tasmanian before moving to Christchurch in the early 1900s. There were ten photographs of Mr French and his family in the album. We returned the photographs to Mrs Richardson in April 2014.
