About this object

Hearth Fender; black cast iron fireplace fender. This one sat in front of a coal range. It has a moveable bar running horizontally from one side to the other - therefore allowing it to slide backwards and forwards; and in the centre front a flat circular design. This fender belonged to the family of Jack Wright.
