About this object

A postcard image of Brodie Street in 1913. This image shows the shop fronts of Blackall & Co., Bourke & Co. Ltd. Stock & Station Agents and part of the Central Hotel. A group of unidentified men stand out the front of Blackall & Co., and one sits on horseback. On the upstairs veranda a woman and two children can be seen with a teddy bear sitting on the floor next to them. An unidentified man can be seen leaning in one of the windows of the Central Hotel, which is located where Retravision and FJ Holden's Cafe is today (2011).

Also of note in this image is the unsealed road, the telegraph poles and the clothing of the period.

On the reverse side of the image the postcard has been written on. Dated May 11th 1913 it is a letter between a Mr Frost and one A.S. Morcham regarding a rental property from a deceased estate.
