Papers belonging to Nurse Winifred Sabina Ponsford, nee Reid, known as Sabrina, [1889-1970]. The collection includes Documents relating to baptisms and confirmations 1888-1908, Documents relating to Nurse Reid's career as a midwife and nurse, Documents relating to her marriage to George Ernest Ponsford, Documents relating to her estate, Memorabilia including autograph album, Postcards and Photographs.

Nurse Winifred Sabina Macquarie Reid, but referred to as Sabina by her friends and family, was born at Port Macquarie the daughter of Mary Louisa Reid, nee Crane, who was also a nurse. Sabina trained at the Women's Hospital, Crown Street, Sydney during 1915-16. Nurse Sabina Reid, also known as Nurse Reid jnr. managed the Wildfels Private Hospital at Wauchope in 1919 with Angela Sutherland, and later with Christine Christenson. In February 1926 Sabina Reid established Mt Adrah Private Hospital in Gordon Street, Port Macquarie. The hospital was also Nurse Reid's home. Mt Adrah Hospital was closed in May 1950 around the time of Sabina Reid's marriage to George Ponsford. The couple continued to live at the Gordon Street, Port Macquarie residence until their deaths, George Ponsford in 1967 and Winifred Sabina Ponsford, nee Reid in 1970 at the age of 82. Nurse Reid is buried in the Port Macquarie General Cemetery.
