About this object

Printed and stapled booklet of 32 pages with illustrations and maps. The full title is 'Australia at the Dardanelles 25th April 1915'. The cardboard cover features a red cross symbol, soldier with gun, scene from Gallipoli and the price of 6D (sixpence). Written by Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett, C. E. W. Bean and the Department of Public Instruction NSW for the use of senior pupils of public schools.

Originally published as 'Australians in action: History of Gallipoli', this edition was printed for the Red Cross Association by courtesy of the Hon. Arthur Griffith, Minister for Education for sale on behalf of the Australia Day Funds. An acknowledgement on the back cover recognises the assistance given by the Editors of The Daily Telegraph, The Sun, The Sydney Mail and The Town and Country Journal in the preparation of the booklet.
