About this object

Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments with an embossed black leather cover. A gift to Alfred Rudder [1845-1902] from his sister Isabel Tompson (nee Rudder), on his 21st birthday in 1866.

Alfred Rudder, the youngest son of E. W Rudder, was born at Macleay River and was involved in mining pursuits before marrying Helena Annie Harriott [1877-1959] of Rawdon Island at Port Macquarie in 1900. He died at the age of 58 years.
