Photographer Abe Frajndlich was born on May 28, 1946 in Germany, though he now resides in New York City. In 1968, Frajndlich received a BA, at Northwestern University, Evanston. In 1970, he received an MA, at Northwestern University, Evanston, Il. in English Literature. Abe Frajndlich did a three-year residence with Minor White, who was the Chairman of the MIT Department of Photography (1964-1976). Furthermore, Frajndlich studied with Nathan Lyons, at the Visual Studies Workshop, in Rochester, New York (1974-75). Frajndlich is a prolific photographer who has left an indelible mark on the photography world, with his freelance art. Abe Frajndlich has not only worked as an artist creating shows that evoke thought and emotion from the viewer, he has worked as a commercial photographer for magazines. The work of Franjdlich’s, has appeared in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Life, ArtNews, London Sunday Times, London Observer, Vanity Fair, in the U.S. and Europe. The photographer has also compiled his work and created beautiful books that represent his voice, one such books is Penelope's Hungry Eyes: Portraits of Famous Photographers (2011).
