About this object

Alta Ruth Hahn was an amateur photography who was active throughout the 1930's. She was born in Springfield, Illinois in 1901, and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1922. She began working for Sales Magazine in New York in 1928, and became the editorial vice president in 1959. The author of "Shop Talk About Selling," she was also the recipient of 1958 Business Woman of the Year award.

This photograph is a view taken from an aerial tramway on Cannon Mountain showing Mount Lafayette. Mount Lafayette is the highest point on this range, which is the second highest range of peaks in the White Mountains. The tramway was built in 1938.
