About this object

The Ringmaster for the Lanchester Grand Circus originally appeared as "Professor Schlookuc and his performing seal" (see photographs) He was repainted and redressed prior to appearing in the new circus performed by Richard Gill and Polka Children's Theatre.

He is strung so he can tip his hat. The puppet was a collaboration between Waldo Lanchester and woodcarver Werner Jackson.
