About this object

R-009.jpg EHHTM ST MARY'S ROAD. View South to Hunt's Farm and Hunts farm House. The buildings left were all destroyed by fire in 1962 the fire starting at Mrs Lacey's cottage which allegedly was another of our Beer House pubs The Rising Sun. The thatched building on the right was removed and replaced by a bungalow built by Stibbs in 1925. The other point of interest is that the large barn centre picture was taken down and removed to Wantage to form part of the Vale and Downland Museum. The site now is used for the new St Amand's School
