Teapot - Blue Willow patternAbout this object
White earthenware teapot with bevelled base below spout and handle, and concave tapered sides. Spout curves outwards and tapers inwards to flattened opening at top. Ear shaped handle. The body has a wraparound onglaze transfer of 'Willow pattern' in blue, a Chinese country scene with two doves. The bevelled base has a decorative floral border. The lid is round and tapers towards top, with flattened button knob. Underneath is a rim with one flat side and a tongue the other side, to engage with pot. It has a circular decorative band around the top.Maker
