Telescope; Charles Rooking Carter's original 1.5” aperture, brass telescope. Leather covering, with small brass plaque attached. Leather lens covers. Made by J.H. Stewart in 1879.

Charles Rooking Carter bequeathed a part of his estate to be used to establish a National Observatory, now Carter Observatory.
