About this object

Photograph, Untitled [Stephen Goodall]; a black and white, head and shoulders photograph of Stephen Goodall. He is depicted wearing a legal robe consisting of a black gown, and a white collar and wig. Framed in a black wooden frame.

Stephen Goodall was the son of Joseph and Margaret Goodall. Joseph Goodall had transferred to Kaikoura as district constable in 1865. He bought Fyffe House circa 1868 following the death of Catherine Fyffe. George Fyffe had passed away the previous year, having fallen off the jetty near his house 'while in an unsound state of mind'(1), and the couple had had no children.
