About this object

The second stage of the progressive award scheme for scouts used from 1907 to 1967 in New Zealand as well as elsewhere in the British Commonwealth, the First Class badge. This display has 9 example that vary in manufacture, material, and colour shades as they were in use for many years and the badges sourced from a variety of places. the early example were on felt and look handmade, the woven on ribbon type were from the Depression and War years, and the more recent examples are backed and bound.
