12" Steel Rule

About this object

Steel, folding 12"/30cm rule with engraved cm and inch graduations. There are 3 sections hinged with metal pins with indented locking when extended. The manufacturers name - Chesterfield, Sheffield, England and Standard at 68oF are engraved at one end. There is further engraving between 1 & 2 inch mark - No 89 then slightly below 64. Rust obscures the rest. It has a black leather case, rounded at both ends and stiched along the sides leaving an opening at one end to insert the rule. The words "GOOD YEAR" are embossed in gold on one side.
