Uniform Waistcoat [NZ Railways]

About this object

NZR uniform waistcoat, black woollen front, black satin back. White cotton lining with grey and black stripes. Front has five 'silver' buttons and four front pockets. Half belt at back, black satin with metal buckle. "8" in black on small label at neck back.
Identified as C.1940 in documentation however Queen's crown on the buttons indicate post 1952 date.
