About this object

Portable gramophone; a His Master's Voice gramophone manufactured in Great Britain by the Gramophone Company Ltd, around 1930.

The gramophone is mounted within a patent leather case with leather carrying handle on one edge. Inside the lid is a compartment for storing records. The case also contains a key for winding up the spring which spins the record; and a small triangular compartment for the storage of spare needles.
