About this object

Uniform, military; WWI New Zealand Mounted rifles tunic in khaki wool serge, has brass NZMR shoulder titles, green wool epaulette slides, four-star New Zealand forces brass buttons and four chevrons on lower right sleeve. A brass hook is attached to each side towards the back.

The cut and style and colour of this jacket suggests that it is English made. The green loops on the shoulder straps indicate 'No1 NZ (Divisional) Employment Company. The green loop was introduced in July 1917. The four service shervons on the lower right cuff indicate 4 years overseas service.
