About this object

Almost square white linen teacloth with drawn thread work inside hem and dividing the cloth into twenty five equal sized squares. Each square has an embroidered message. 'M126' is printed in black ink one one corner of the cloth. Donor's mother made this from a trip to Australia before her marriage, travelling on the ship 'Monowai' and returning on the 'Mokoia' in 1903. Guests on the two ships she met signed it then she embroidered them.
