This recently produced work by textile artist Jo Torr has the title Pacific Crossings and is in the form of an 18th century-style waistcoat and coat. It is embroidered with images that reference Sydney Parkinson’s paintings of Banks and Solander botany specimens collected on Cook’s first voyage to the Pacific in 1769.
