About this object

An expressionist interior study of the artist's living area at Warwick Castle, the historic turretted manor on the corner of Brougham and Shortland Streets, where Jane Evans lived from 1971 - 1977. The highly-coloured painting depicts an arm chair with a striped cushion near a table stacked with objects including a yellow coffee pot, which features in many other paintings by this artist, and a row of distinctive pointed arch windows in the background.
