Abingdon County Hall Museum
Reopened on 7 July 2012 with three floors of new exhibitions. Following extensive restoration of the superb 17th century County hall, described by Pevsner as "the grandest town hall in England", the new museum displays tell the unique story of Abingdon-on-Thames. Exhibitions include all aspects of the locality - everything from a mammoth tooth to the MG sports car and the basement Crossley Pump Engine. Find out why Abingdon-on-Thames marks special occasions with bun throwing, and why it claims to be the oldest town in England.
