The teapot was manufactured by Cooper Brothers & Sons were a Sheffield based company, they were mostly recognized for their spoons. The company existed from 1850 to 1964.This teapot was manufactured in Sheffield, England and brought to the station in the late 1800s. It was used in the first class precinct. This teapot holds significant interpretive value because it is an example of the silver that was used in the first class precinct dinning room. It emphasizes the comforts first class passengers would have received while in quarantine in contrast to second and third class. This particular teapot is rare because it bares the quarantine inscriptions ‘QS’ and would have been solely used at the quarantine station.
