Waikato Museum Te Whare Taonga o Waikato
The Waikato Museum was purpose built in 1987 and comprises twelve galleries over five levels. The Waikato Museum presents a changing programme of exhibitions, featuring items from its own large collection as well as the national and international touring exhibitions that are a regular feature at the Museum.
The exhibition programme covers four main areas: Visual Arts; Social History; Tangata Whenua and Science, including the interactive children's experience, Exscite.
The Waikato Museum also offers many programmes, tours and activities to supplement the exhibitions and broad education services to all educational institutions.
