Ashburton Museum

Help
The Ashburton Museum features an extensive collection of historical records and photographs related to the whole Ashburton District. These include the Binsted and Tindall negative collections, books of sale plans from the breaking up of many large farming estates and many company, club and school records.

A large collection of other items from the district includes many hundreds of Maori artefacts from the Wakanui site excavations of the early 1970s and a model circus containing many hundreds of pieces, built by a local man.

The Ashburton Museum is centrally situated in Ashburton, adjacent to Baring Square.
