About this object
Uniform components; a small collection of badges and buttons from a World War Two New Zealand Army or Navy uniform. The badges include four which read 'New Zealand', and two bearing the British Royal coat-of-arms. The six buttons are made of brass, two are made by Gaunt in London, the other four by Stokes & Sons, Melbourne.
These items belonged to Hector William Fraser (1918-1992). He joined the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy on the 21st of September, 1933; served on the HMNZS Achilles from the 1st of April 1936 to 4th October 1940. He then served in the Royal New Zealand Armed Forces from 1941 to April, 1963.
