About this object
Black barathea hand tailored suit trousers with black tape ribbon stripe down outer leg. Six button fly, side pockets, lower back belt with buckle. Buttons at waistband for suspenders. Inside has padding at seat gusset. Lined with white cotton at pockets, fly and waistband, with the waistband again covered in a gold silk. From the family of Gordon Coates New Zealand’s Prime Minister from 1925-28.
